OUR STORY

Led by Jules Wilson, a seasoned designer with a rich background and wealth of inspiration from her studies in Europe, our studio began as a modest team of designers in 2005. Jules Wilson Design Studio has since grown its reputation as a full-service boutique design firm specializing in a wide array of services including visioning and planning, interior design, integrated hardscapes, building facades, and custom FF&E and art procurement. With a strong foundation in luxury residential, hospitality, and wellness design, Jules and her team have built a portfolio that spans a variety of sectors showcasing versatility and commitment to creating uncomplicated yet sophisticated environments that fit each of our client’s needs and élan.

Leveraging the team’s extensive experience and ability to draw inspiration from a multitude of sources—including fine art, architecture, fashion, and film— we are able to consistently deliver spaces that are visually dynamic, rich with texture and story.

On larger projects, the studio has often played a pivotal role as design representative and lead design liaison for its clients, uniting project teams with well-coordinated drawings and details. This collaborative approach has led to the integration of architecture, building systems, landscape, interior design, in addition to furnishings and fixtures, that results in a level of quality that has become part of the JWDS standard.

The studio continues to transcend trends, focusing instead on creating timeless spaces that enhance and elevate the user experience, a testament to the studio’s success and its enduring impact on the design landscape.

MEET JULES

Principal and Senior Design Director of Jules Wilson Design Studio, Jules draws upon more than 3 decades of experience in the design industry. With an educational background in interior design, architectural history, and industrial design, Jules has curated a unique outlook that has taken her to all corners of the design world. A graduate with a BFA in Interior Design from the Design Institute of San Diego, Jules went on to further hone her skills in Florence, Italy, at Lorenzo Di Medici, drawing inspiration from Europe's rich art, architecture, fashion, and film. She previously worked for many prominent firms, before deciding to establish JWDS.

Known for designs that transcend trends through bold elegance, her work emphasizes a holistic sensory experience—integrating movement, texture, color, lighting, and acoustics. Jules’s ability to weave client stories into their spaces is a cornerstone of her studio's acclaim. Beyond her professional pursuits, Jules enjoys restoring her mid-century home, boating in San Diego Bay, and spending time with her partner, Paul Basile, and their puppy, Noble.
